Vesuvius Poland's dual support for the „Cycling May”
2024-07-08“Cycling May” is an initiative that has been thriving for years not only in Skawina, but also in many other places across Poland. Its main objective is to promote safe cycling and the choice of this means of transport. Vesuvius Poland has once again become involved in supporting this initiative.
As part of the campaign, pupils from local schools arrived at classes on bicycles, scooters, rollerblades or skateboards. The most important thing was that they did it in an active way. The children with the highest attendance received prizes; Vesuvius Poland funded a prize of PLN 2,000 for the best small school. The winner was Oskar Kolberg Primary School in Pozowice with an attendance rate of 69.5 per cent of journeys made by bicycle or other means of personal transport.
At the same time, Vesuvius Poland organised a competition for its employees, which also aimed to promote cycling. The participants’ task was to send in a photo of their cycling trip. The photos were then published on our Facebook profile, where voting took place. The winners were decided by the number of reactions under the photos – the best one received more than 400 likes! In total, more than 1 000 reactions were left under the post.
We are delighted that we were able to get involved in this initiative and that it attracted so much interest.
