October is a special month – it is globally recognized as Pink October, a time to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention. Vesuvius Poland proudly supports this initiative, aiming to highlight the importance of health and regular check-ups. We want to encourage our female employees and their families to take preventive actions that could save lives. 

Key word: prevention 

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, but early detection offers almost a 100% chance of complete recovery. Statistics show that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. However, thanks to advances in medicine and growing awareness of prevention, the number of people who successfully overcome this disease continues to rise. 

What can we do? 

Pink October is an excellent opportunity to remind ourselves of the importance of regular check-ups. It is recommended that every woman over the age of 20 performs a self-breast exam every month and visits a doctor once a year for an ultrasound. For women over 50, mammography is the most effective way to detect early-stage changes. 

The power of good habits 

Our goal is for Pink October to be an inspiration to take action, not a source of fear. Each of us can take small steps toward health – simply by performing regular check-ups and taking care of ourselves. A healthy diet, limiting the intake of animal fats, avoiding harmful substances like nicotine and alcohol, and maintaining physical activity in everyday life are routines that significantly increase our chances of staying healthy. Prevention is not just a responsibility but also a way to live a longer, fuller life. It’s important to remember that what we do for our health today will have a tremendous impact on our future.
