From January 13 to 17, 2025, Vesuvius Poland hosted Sustainability Week – an event dedicated to promoting eco-friendly initiatives, social responsibility, and commitment to environmental protection. It was a time of reflection, action, and inspiration for the entire team. As part of Sustainability Week, we organized various activities aimed at raising environmental awareness and implementing tangible changes. 

We emphasized the importance of reducing CO2 emissions in the steel industry, which accounts for over 8% of global emissions. We showcased how Vesuvius technologies support clients in reducing emissions through the optimization of casting and production processes. We discussed the key benefits of refractory materials, such as heat insulation, protection against erosion and corrosion, and creating barriers between steel and air, minimizing energy loss and improving product quality. 

Our initiatives also included eco-friendly actions, such as installing bird feeders as part of the “Bird Buffet” campaign and launching an e-waste collection drive that will continue until Earth Day on April 20, 2025. Additionally, our offices were enriched with plants that will improve air quality and create a more welcoming work environment. 

Sustainability Week provided an opportunity to present advanced technologies like Basilite Quickstart and DuraSleeve, which allow our clients to significantly reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions while enhancing operational efficiency.
